The Keita Matsumiya Laboratory (Music Production & Sound Design Laboratory) at the Graduate School of Design and Architecture, Nagoya City University, focuses on the relationships between music across cultures and historical periods and science and technology, as well as on the sonic environments that surround us. The laboratory engages in both research and creative practice in art music, music for stage and film, and sound studies and production. By fostering a continuous exchange between theoretical inquiry and artistic creation, we integrate compositional techniques, interface design, sound visualization, and body-extended instruments within a unified research framework.
